Speeding Up Lists on Time Matters Forms

Each form in Time Matters, such as the Matter form, has tabs for Documents, Emails, etc. If you have some Matters that have many, many documents and emails, you may notice that you have to wait too long when you click on one of these tabs.

There is a rather mysterious setting in Time Matters for the number of records to “pre-fetch” when clicking a Matter subtab (Documents, Email, etc.). It is mysterious in the sense that setting a higher number, but not too high, can make a big improvement in performance. I suggest setting it at 2000, but 1000 may be better (or worse!).

How to Change the Sublist Records Pre-Fetch Number

  • Go to: Main Menu / File / Setup / General / Program Level

  • Click on Forms

  • In the middle, change the Display number to 1000 or 2000 (shown above).

Close and reopen Time Matters. See if your Documents or Email sublist load faster.
