Overview of Document Sharing
Time Matters 13 introduced Secure Document Sharing. This feature is powered by an enterprise-class service, WatchDox, and is included at no extra charge for Time Matters customers with an active Annual Maintenance Plan.
The purpose of Secure Document Sharing is to allow the confidential transfer of documents back and forth with clients and other people. It is a secure alternative to sending attachments via email.
Better than email Attachments
Secure Document Sharing has these advantages over sending email attachments:
- Documents cannot be intercepted as they travel across the Internet.
- Copies of documents do not remain in the recipient's inbox or the sender's outbox.
- As sender, you can be notified that your document has been received.
- You can control the length of time that a document is available.
- You can send a document with a "view-only" restriction that prevents downloading.
Limitations on Secure Document Sharing
Secure Document Sharing is not a replacement for an online file storage service. It is intended for the transfer of documents, not a long-term repository.
The total size of files saved via Secure Document Sharing is 5 GB per customer. The 5 GB is shared by all users of a single Time Matters database.
